Under the heading of unintentional irony, I give you the asshat himself, GWB (or rather his spokesperson on his behalf):

Wow. Even if there were evidence, rather than the bloviation of pols, that Assange (through Wikileaks) had done harm, let alone great harm to the US, he'd have to go quite some way to match the devastation of W. One also wonders just how schizophrenic an organization has to be to have these two as invited speakers. Bush - still a petulant prat; no surprise there.

Along similar lines I find it interesting that christians have all sorts of issues with islamic theocracy but wouldn't have any problems having policy decisions based on nothing but religious beliefs (as long as they're christian) in this country.
